What’s the difference?

Sadly, Randy Ligon has dropped a slick mailer all over our district desperately trying to distract attention from his shockingly liberal voting-record with the cleverly worded claim that he “believes” abortionists should receive zero taxpayer funds.

Here's the truth:

  • Randy Ligon has voted repeatedly to give abortionists tax money in the budget.

  • When conservatives in the House tried to defund Planned Parenthood, Randy Ligon opposed them and voted to keep money flowing to abortionists!

Official roll call vote on whether to table Amendment 4 to H5150 on 03/14/22: click here

The vote above is on whether to table Amendment 4 to H5150 on March 14, 2022.

A yes (Aye) vote is a vote to give abortionists your tax dollars by funding Planned Parenthood in the State Budget. A No (Nay) vote is a vote to remove Planned Parenthood funding from the state budget.

So, which side do you think Randy Ligon ended up on?

Randy Ligon voted with the establishment and the Democrats!

Randy Ligon OPPOSED a conservative amendment that would have DEFUNDED Planned Parenthood. When conservative Republicans tried to remove the funding for the abortion providers, Randy Ligon voted against the majority of Republicans, and instead voted with the Democrats to table the budget amendment, allowing your tax dollars to keep flowing to the abortionists.

This conservative amendment was something Governor McMaster suggested in his Executive Budget - not some obstructionist stunt. Again, a majority of Republicans supported it, but not Randy Ligon.

Note: Randy Ligon did not only just vote for a State Budget that included funding for abortionists, but also, Ligon specifically blocked an attempt by conservatives to remove that funding for abortion providers.

On June 14, you have a choice. You can vote for more of the same "go-along-to-get-along" political theatre where politicians tell us they believe one thing and then go to Columbia and do the exact opposite.

Or you can vote for a courageous conservative who will be a champion for real change. Someone with a backbone who will stand up to the establishment and fight for us.

Randy Ligon votes like a liberal in the legislature.

We need a change.

We need Mark Corral.

Randy Ligon is rated among the lowest legislators by leading conservative organizations:

  • American Conservative Union = F (source)

  • South Carolina Club for Growth = D (source)

  • SC Republican Liberty Caucus = F (source)

South Carolina needs bold legislators who will demand real change. Sadly, Randy Ligon has decided to vote with the liberals in Columbia who are holding up real reform. These are the same establishment types who refuse to fix our roads, improve our broken education system, or advance liberty.
